What is this?

Pardon my ignorance. I am going to be replacing my multiport valve as it is leaking. I see this in one of the lines coming from it. I will have to replace it as well and I am not sure what it is.
Thank you for all the help you guys always give!!! My guess is a pressure relief? I am not sure though. It is an old system that was installed well before I got this house. I have had bad luck just monkeying with or twisting things as they are so froze up they break. So before I do that I am hoping to know what it is.

9122 Series PVC Ball Valve, One Piece, Inline, T-Handle, 1-1/2" Slip.

Pop out the center cap and remove the screw to remove the handle.

Oh interesting! Thank you. I didn't realize it was just a simple ball valve with no handle. Well that shouldn't be hard to replace. I have several in the system but they all have the handles to turn.

The ball valves are notoriously bad and tend to fail. Get a valve that looks like this...they are rebuildable.

Thank you! That is an easy fix! I didn't know the traditional ball valves were not a great idea. I like installing stuff that will last awhile.

You can replace the handle.

Thank you James. Just take the cap and screw off the top?

Pop out the center disc and you will see a screw.

Remove the screw and then remove the handle.
