What is the correct way to plumb pool components?

I broke the union nut on my pentiar pump. I decided to just build a new connection from pump output to filter input. Previosly the pipe was a straight with (2) 90 degree couplers. In reading about pool plumbing I saw that hard 90 degrees couplers shouldnt be used. Instead to use the 45 degree couplers. I only need to go about 2 feet from the pump to filter. I was just wondering what the professionals would do in this instance? Also any tips on getting the mesaurements right. I tried to fix the old pipe by cutting the broken section out and cementing on a new section but I found that when you dry fit the pipes they only go in about 75 percent of the way where as when you have the primer and cement actikng as a lubricant for few seconds the pipe will seat all the way in the couplers. Anyhow my attempt to install the frankenstein pipe wasnt fitting flush so that is why I am starting from scratch. 20220615_194047.jpg20220615_194052.jpg

Use 90's and make it easy on yourself. A few 90's make an insignificant difference.

Use "2 PACK -CMP Hi-Temp Union 2" inch 2MIP x 2" inch PVC Whisperflo & Intelliflo - 2 PACK" for your pump union.

Prefit the pipe using soapy water to get full penetration. It's still hard to get it to fit up but you have to do this to get a trued up and square installation with good penetration at each fitting. Then when everything is square mark the edges of each fitting with a pencil. Also mark a perpendicular line from the pipe to the fitting. Use a pencil not a magic marker since the glue will dissolve anything other than a pencil. When you glue the fittings line them up with the marks. The pipe will be perfectly square and look like a pro did it!

Was wondering if I could get someone to let me know if this is correct at best or functional at worst? The previous pipe was just a straight pipe with (2) 90 couplers. I couldn't replicate that for some reason so this was my next next best effort. I haven't glued them yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 20220616_185331.jpg
