What is happening here? Salt rise, more

Is it beyond the realm of possibility that there is an issue with the softener causing salt to leak out?

A second test using a double sample of fill water will clear this up. Maybe.

If your fill water test of 0 CH is accurate, you most definitely have a softener in your fill water loop. Water in our neck of the woods is anywhere between 175 and 250 CH. I'm jealous!

EtA: I just looked at your logs and see your pool water is 330 CH. I'm starting to doubt my statement above.

When was your pool last drained?

The softener doesn't add salt to the water, but it does add sodium ions that are exchanged for the Calcium and Magnesium ions removed by the resin. Can the sodium ions combine with chloride ions from MA and other sources to create a salt reading in the water?

its new...

was filled at the end of february... poll guy threw in god knows what in several large scoops from unlabeled buckets the day after fill.... converted to SWG a month later.

But yeah, the CH and CL is what makes me think it's on the loop

I know we have 1 outside spigot that is definitely NOT on the loop.... perhaps test that one, vs the one in question.

For the time being, I've put the cover back on.... I imagine it will fend off evap a bit at the very least... but with the outside temps getting back into the 100s today I'm a bit worried for how hot the water will get... the pool is 94 right now LOL

So you’ve got a 10,000 gallon hot tub.
when the feels like temp is 108 (like today) 95 (what it peaked at, an hour ago) is slightly warm, but pretty good... especially when you get out and the breeze cools you.

Honestly, I'd say the sweet spot seems to be 92.

Which, coincidentally... is around where it's at as the sun is going down.... our prime swimming time.

We DO have a heat pump that can chill the water, but it's not to the point where it's needed... yet.

ok... not sure what's up.
pool is testing at 3400 again... 2 days in a row.

I need a speedstir LOL

It's crazy hot today ("Feels Like" 108) so I'll test the fill water Salt again later.
