What did you do to your pool today?

We had another monster thunderstorm last night. Woke up to a really full pool this morning. So, I had to drain yet another 3 or 4 inches. Surprisingly, I had very few leaves in the pool. Upon completing water drain, my SWG now reports low salt! Not surprising at all with all the rain.
So I put in a bit of bleach to hold me over till this evening. So this afternoon, I added a bag of salt and made the red light go off. Checked the skimmer and not much in there except a few live water spiders and some drownded june bugs.

Im sure the CYA has taken a dive too. I suppose I will save that till it quits raining. No need adding it now and then just pump it right back out. More rain on the forecast for tonight.. and then next day, and the next and next.... until 10 days from now. Gotta be a record of some sort for East Texas. I never ever remember raining so much. Its been going on since March.

I hear ya' Dave. Pretty much a guarantee all that cya I added 3 weeks ago......... ."ain't what it used to be"......anymore. I'm keeping the cap screwed on my cya bottle till the monsoon season passes too.

Yes Lisa, the weather this year is nuts.
Every step I take across the yard results in a squish squish sound. It cramping my style!

Isn't it crazy dave and woodyp [emoji15]. My yard is almost swampy. Uggh

I got no clue man. None.
LOL ! :)

Yeah, the puddles in yard have high CYA, how do I lower the CYA in my puddles?

Today I replaced my air relief cap on my Hayward S200 sand filter for the second time in just a few weeks. The first one snapped apart after almost four years of service. The new one must have been defective as it developed a leak on the top. Water was spraying out of it. The combination of high winds and having my pump off for several hours also made it necessary to skim the pool after replacing the air vent. There was quite a bit flying around and it all landed in the pool. Cleaned the skimmer and added bleach and acid to bring down the pH. I'm really happy with the way my water looks so far, I just need to get the pH down and keep it down. Water temp was 79 before the rain.

Lol! Patrick. We just like things just right around here, not too much, not to little. Is that too much to ask? [emoji12]

NO, it really isn't....I'm the same picky way myself. I just like chastising people. :poke:

Thanks though......we got about 1.5" last night

Wettest spring in a long time for sure, but its a little chilly out this morning for May in West Tex...:santa:

After a week of using the pool in hot temps and enjoying the pool everyday, high winds blew through and dropped thousands of helicopters in the pool. Ugh... Been cleaning the filter every half hour.
