What did you do to your pool today?

I think I’m too old to ski to and to be honest we haven’t been skiing in AU for years. or for us. Finally can kind of afford it but now we’re to old and lazy to do it. Loved Banff and Jasper earlier this year but getting on and off of busses every day is not for me.

Are you older than 80? I had a ski instructor who was 81.

Ran some tests. Lowered the output of the SWG. Added stabilizer lost due to the last two hurricanes.

Tested 2 friends pools in the neighborhood that use a pool company. Their pools were a disaster. Both had algae and their CSI was so negative it was almost not worth mentioning. One pool guy fired and we are slamming that pool. The other friend still has the mental leap to make.

This pool guy does about 15 pools in our neighborhood, I can only imagine what the others are like.

I replumbed the purge line on my cyclone. With the black flexible pvc pipe, aka ‘hose’. I’d bought it before reading this thread about the stuff. I think it looks better and it’s not under much pressure so we’ll see.

Best application is as a pre filter for a canister. They increase the interval between pulling them apart for a clean. And all you need to do is open the purge valve for about 5 seconds. The captured dirt doesn’t reduce flow, efficiency or increase pressure. They work like a cyclonic vacuum cleaner. Im not sure what there performance is in terms filtration but they will capture DE powder or powdered CyA where a bypass is needed. I first saw and made something similar in the aquaculture industry called a swirl separator.

I don’t really need mine, it’s a filter on a standalone solar system. I have clear water intakes halfway down the side wall where a filter is not really needed but it captures a lot of fine household type dust, particularly after brushing the walls and steps etc.

FC up to slam level and closed up the pool today, all buttoned up for upcoming winter. Sad day but also relief its done also. Strange mixture of feelings every year.

Me as well, grew up in Erie, PA. Trying to cross the river back to PA in the next couple of years. NJ is no bueno for retirement. They tax everything here!!!

My wife grew up in Erie, well, Millcreek Township. I grew up 12 miles north of Pittsburgh with most of my extended family from the city. My first game was at Pitt Stadium against the Redskins when Sonny Jurgensen was playing.

Oh yeah……I do the cold plunge thing…it’s called early June when the water is below 82. . I hate swimming in cold water….84 or bust for me.

Hello Wolfepack...I am new to this forum and in the initial stages of installing a pool in NJ. We love the look/size of your FG pool. Who installed it and would you recommend them, assuming they do work near us? And any advice greatly appreciated, thank you!
