Back from a 3-week absence and checked the numbers. The individual jugs for weekly acid additions worked a treat and the pool looks great. Put the cleaner in for a bit of dust on the bottom and all is well :). Cold water now though!

25 gallons of bleach later, I now have FC that is holding. Not hint of green, and no unexplained rise in filter pressure. All I can think of is that I now have no CYA, haven't tested that yet, water is still too cold. This in a pool that hasn't even been refilled from last fall's drain down, so I'm working with only half the normal volume.

For you folks with the teens--- good luck with that! They don't start using their brains until mid 20's -- at least mine didn't!

Finally got the bond wire in for the metal ladder, then installed the ladder and tied the bond wire
to the pump & heater bond wire with a copper wire joiner.

peace of mind!

oh and went for first swim of the season on saturday. 82 degree water.

Had my VS pump calibrated by a specialist. Found out that my plumber did an excellent job, pump is performing exactly how Pentair states it should. He made some recommendations on rpm and run time settings but overall said my setup is dialed in. Told me that many new builds he visits have plumbing issues that affect hydrology. Builders cut too many corners. I am relieved that my system is plumbed to maximize efficiency.
