What did you do to your pool today?

The sand seems ok, but probably do a deep clean when I replace the top o-ring gasket to the multiport valve as it drips a drop of water every couple of hours.

the heater is also the timer and all seems to be in order but I have not fired it yet.

Before replacing the seal, try wiping it clean and LIGHTLY coating it with a teflon based lubricant, such as Magic Lube. Be sure when reinstalling to tighten evenly, alternating sides when tightening down and tap the outer retaining ring with the screw driver periodically as you tighten it down to help seat the o-ring. Worked for me last time I had a small leak.

Today I brushed leaves and other junk off of the auto-cover and opened it for the first time in five days. Couldn't open it any sooner because of the nor'easter we've been having. I'm thrilled because the water was still crystal-clear and FC had only dropped from 8 to 4, CC was still 0, and pH held steady at 7.6. :whoot:Added half a gallon of 12% chlorine, turned on the heater, and put the robot in to get everything back in shape to swim tomorrow - we're supposed to be in the mid 70's for most of the week and the heater can get the water into the 80's. This season's not over yet!

The storm was a pain, but it could have been a lot worse. I've read a few posts from folks in South Carolina and my heart goes out to them. Good luck, guys!

The girls couldn't resist one last go in the pool.................while I scooped out hundreds of leaves again!:rant::rant: We're going to leave the heater on for about another week or so then let the temps drop to close the pool. Started putting away all the furniture for the year....but the waters still nice enough for the girls to enjoy......so they did.

Beautiful girls you got there Lee. :) I'm so glad that it's still warm enough there for them to be able to still enjoy the pool.

Here in Ky. the water temp today is 64 degrees. Outside temps are still teetering- Several nights last week was in the mid to low 50's, now they are in the 60's, and Saturday the low is suppose to be 47. We had to scoop quite a few leaves out yesterday, so we threw a cover over the pool to try to keep the leaves out. The backyard is looking mighty sad :( I do believe that ready or not, Winter will soon be here. We have the swing, the pool steps, and the grills all put away in the garage already. All I can say is I'm not liking this one little bit. :(

Shotgun???????? LOL Several good shots will bring the branch down! LOL Your neighbors may never forgive you but.........it is fun!

She said almost exactly that. It was so cold her skin turned red! (she has red hair so her skin does weird things)

Thanks. Appreciate that. Her mom is too stubborn to do the things that necessary to manage her diabetes. (as in demanding cokes when her blood sugar is 560, and no, nobody gave it to her). We all know it will end badly. Most stubborn woman I've ever met. My wife inherited some of that and I have in the past told her to pose use her powers of stubborn for good, which got me a laugh.

Mine is doing better after a pacemaker and a couple of GI procedures, but has a long recuperative road and learning to manage her minds desire to do what her body can no longer support. Avid volunteer for her church and united way, but congestive heart failure will no longer allow her the the time she would like at those pursuits. Was a long week of sitting in the hospital 10 hours a day with her, but I had the easy part of the job.

+1 on that, I used to look forward to fall and cooler temps too. Now it is just the beginning of the countdown to next summer. Here is my daily pool schedule for the foreseeable future.

This a newbie dumb question. Is it alright for the pump to run on filter when it is full to the rim?

I got 6 inches of rain last night and it is still pouring. Also, my flagstone is sitting in salt water. Should I try to get out there to lower the level when the weather allows for it
