What are the pros/cons of a UV sanitizer? How much electric do they use?

For an outdoor pool, no pros, only cons. Outdoor pool gets plenty of UV.

If it doesn't deploy a tent over the pool, then the bulk of you chlorine loss will be to the sun. The UV device will then add a little more loss to the equation and is counter productive in an outdoor pool.
For an indoor pool with no UV, they are a help because the pool has none.
