Never got around to deep cleaning the filter since it's been raining on/off the last week. It's something I plan on doing at some point. Once I do, I'll report back.
I'm still confused as to what caused this mess and what exactly ate 69 jugs of bleach. Whatever caused that cloudiness appears to be gone. I treated that 5 hour window of the pool being closed and losing no FC as a pseudo OCLT and moved on. I think my wife would have left me if I dumped 1 more bottle in. The pool is still crystal clear and holding FC nicely.
