My pool water is yellow , I shocked it and still yellow . I added all the chemicals recommended by the pool store , still yellow. What now ? Also, what is a sand filter ?

Welcome to TFP.

The yellow is from iron in your well water. Chemicals will not get rid of iron. It needs to be filtered out while filling the pool.

A sand filter is a large container of sand that water is pumped into and out of. The dirty water is pumped into the filter, the water runs through the sand, which catches small particles, then the clean water is pumped back out to the pool.
