I recently chose to refinish my recently converted salt water pool with Diamond Brite in Tahoe Blue. I filled the pool with well water and the minerals/metals in the well water reacted with the Diamond Brite and light brown residue formed on the bottom of the pool. I drained the pool, cleaned up the residue and had the pool vendor refinish the pool surface for the second time. I refilled the pool and the water is currently clear and light green.
It seems to me that I just need to add salt to the pool and balance the water. The pool vendor believes that adding salt will recreate the initial bad reaction. He has recommended using a product called Metal Magnet to clear up the pool water. How should I move forward?
Thanks!
