well sheesh, no muriatic acid in the local small town, Ace or wallyworld.

A quick check of the Home Depot site shows many stores with high inventory (80-100+ per store) of the 2-gallon MA packs, so that's where I'd go. They don't show the inventory count of liquid chlorine, just say to check at the store, so I can't help there.

I haven't read anything about a muriatic acid shortage (except a couple questions here) -- are there places where it's hard to find at places like Lowes/HD that show their inventory? I wonder if some pool stores aren't getting consistent deliveries because it normally comes on the same truck as the liquid chlorine, and those deliveries are being disrupted?

no idea what the problem is, they said they'd have it in August. doubt it all went to pool owners but who know? I will find some next time I go to Tucson, or one of the kids is headed that way. not a big deal, just kind of strange. they DID have plenty of chlorine.

my wally word keeps the 2 gallon packs of kem-tek MA outside in the garden section on a rack beside the potting soil. Only reason I looked there today was because that's where they move all pool stuff too during the off season. They were out of Pool Essentials liquid chlorine and have been for a while along with lowes and HD.

I mention on another thread. Seems the supply chain is all messed up. Some stores are out of few things and others have a large inventory of same product. Not exactly a shortage, but does look like.
