I do not have a weir door on my skimmer. I can't find a model number so I can get it replaced.

I see stuff float by the skimmer all the time because nothing is sucking it into the skimmer, and I see stuff come out of the skimmer when it should stay in the skimmer.
Obviously I need a weir. How do I figure out which one to buy? How do I measure?

Vortex in the skimmer. Is it good or bad? I can sometimes see a small vortex on the surface of the skimmer water. We keep the water level pretty high.
thanks

I measured the inside dimensions of my skimmer opening and ordered one from Amazon. It had a spring-loaded mount system that released inside the opening, holding it in place.

That was my solution as well. worked great!

Just make sure it moves freely and doesn't get stuck. I had a small piece of sharp grout
hanging down a little and that newly installed weir, would snag on it sometimes, holding it shut.

Then I realized I had not pushed the weir down far enough (it was also flipping forward and back
and should only have moved back towards the skimmer) After adjusting it down a bit it
worked perfectly.

Let me make sure this is correct.

The skimmer opening has a "frame" around it which makes the inside opening smaller than the "frame".

I need to measure the inside of that frame, right?

The weir door should open to the inside of the skimmer, right?
Thanks

Yes, the door will lay over IN towards the skimmer, away from the opening so the water flows over the door. Measure the inside dimensions. If you can see where the old door was, I would place it in the same general area.

This one might work.

Pentair Rainbow 7In Skimmer Weir - Spring Loaded - R240007

It's 7 inches wide....i think the springs (they pop outward) will compensate for that 1/4 inch
on either side. It might let a few pine needles back in the pool, but it will draw in debris
much better than nothing at all.

It does not say how tall it is, but if it is too tall, you can (and some have) trim it down to fit
from the top. Or call or email them to get the height first.
