I am replacing the weir doors on my in ground concrete pool - all are cracked or broken. We had the pool resurfaced a few years ago with Diamond Bright. A thin layer of Diamond Bright is covering most of the base plate screws and a portion of the base plates. Can I lightly chip it away with no issues so I can remove and replace?

Yes, lightly. Don't damage the skimmer throat.
