Weed or roots growing through pool liner.

Today while cleaning the pool to get it closed i noticed this stuff in the bottom and had to pull push it with the cleaner to get some to come off. I have no idea what it is and I assume it's through the liner becuase we have a small leak we haven't been able to find. Any ideas and what should be done? I know we have a sycamore tree about 15ft away that's almost 20 years old.

Looks like the tree roots have worked their way through a seam in the floor of the liner.

You can dive down and clean out the roots and put patches over the area. Glue two or three progressively larger patches over the area.

1st patch will be a piece of clear vinyl from a patch kit and boxer glue. 2nd patch you want the clear patch a little larger than the first over top. 3rd patch overlaps the other 2 patches. Round the corners. Make the patch large enough to grab both sides of the seam.

Or you can replace the liner.
