Amazing! Thank you so much!

I took over my pool 5 years ago, wanting to manage it myself, but quickly decided it was too difficult and that I should leave it to the “pros” - actually I had these thoughts several times over the years. The 5 years were half good (pool was useable) and half bad (algae). Weekly pool service, as you might imagine, was shock, trichlor pucks, and the occasional dash of algaecide… What makes that even more maddening was that I had a SWCG, but there was actually no salt (d’oh!) in the pool water (which I learned after firing the pool guy), thus the need to add extra chlorine 🫣

I understood on a basic level that “things” accumulate in a pool, so I agreed to drain/refill the pool in early March 2024, but the old (15+ years) plaster essentially delaminated (would assume the hydrostatic pressure was keeping it in place beforehand - does anyone know?). That seemed like a great occasion to replaster and fire the pool guy. I spent about 1-2 hours in the TFP pool school and realized that the basic stuff is very easy to understand (brought me back to early high school chemistry), got a Taylor test kit, and started lurking in the TFP forums 🤓

Since following the TFP principles:
-water always perfect balanced and safe to swim in
-crystal clear 24/7
-saving about $100/month on unnecessary pool chemicals and overuse of electricity (pump)
-lots of nerdy satisfaction that I’m managing this pool myself 😜😎🏊‍♂️

I hope to give back to the TFP community as I continue to learn.

Happy swimming y’all!
