Question

Recently finished a slam on the pool, check my sig below for specs.

The water is clear, but if you run your hand under the waterline and over the walls of the pool there is some sort of scaly white substance on the pool walls, it feels rough to the touch and when it flakes off it looks like soap powder flakes.

FC and PH are all within norms, what should I test for? and what is this substance?

Thanks

Can you provide a full set of test results? It sounds like calcium carbonate scale.

It could be high csi or due to adding certain chemicals too close together in time.

Can you list all chemicals you have used and how you added them.?

Bleach-CYA that is all. I will test everything and post some results our water here is very hard, but we have had lots of rain and I have never seen this before on the inside walls of the pool.

Sounds like Calcium Scale. And if it flakes off, you should be loving life. If you could get that stuff off the walls and vacuum it to waste, it would a cause for celebration. Keep the pH on the low end of swimmable and it should dissolve back into solution.
