Is anyone experiencing water loss over the vault dam as described in this post?

I’m a first time pool owner with an autocover. The pool was just built and I love it. I have been wondering about water loss. It seems that when we get lots of kids jumping around the pool I seem to lose a lot of water into the autocover trench/box (could lose an inch from one evening of kids...

Yea. I lose a lot of water over it. The higher the water, the more you lose. One of the costs of doing business with them.

The cover dam is also my overflow prevention device...if I leave the cover off during big rain storms I never need to worry about the water level.

And yes kids, and myself on occasion, do cause quite a bit of water to wash over. For my sons 10th birthday, pre-covid, we had close to 20 people at one time or another in the pool, which was our largest ever crowd, and the pool water level was at the bottom of the tile line at the end of the day - so we lost around 3-4 inches of water...
