Water leaking through multiport valve

Hey all I noticed when I shut pump off I can hear water leaking through the multiport valve to the waste line. It leaks until most of water is out of pump basket. I went to local pool store and they sold me a new key/seal assembly (Hayward SPX0714CA). I replaced it and it's still leaking through. I also replaced the o-rings with brand new ones. Is there something I'm missing than anybody can think of?

Did you change the spring and washers as well? They help to apply pressure to keep everything pressured tightly inside. NOTE: if you do elect to replace the spring and washers, be sure to get the correct ones for your MPV. The link below may not be for your exact model.

I didn't replace the spring but I did the washers. I didn't lube the seal of the new one when I put it in. Could that cause the leak?

Added lube on the gasket and still leaking...any other ideas?

Just that spring. Your original spring may be worn and allow too much slack.
