Should I leave it be or break up the ice on the top and reposition this so it stops letting water out... my backyard is flooding with the excess rain water that has since filled up the pool past this point... only problem is that I am in Ohio and have a huge chunk of ice on top that I can’t easily move to get to the stopper here and take care of it... or should I just plug the two outside holes ??

Leave it be if it isn’t dripping onto the wall. It looks like the wall had some discoloring/ possible smeared glue before this ? If it is going down the wall find a way to reroute the drip, it will be rust waiting to happen in the future.
if you plug it up on the outside, the port will fill and eventually freeze. That could be catastrophic if the port damages the wall if it splits open.

Ooof. Sorry. From the first pic it looked way more like occasionally drips. You will empty the pool like that. (At least down to the valve). Plug/cap the outside because it’s less risk than leaving the pool half full while that half is frozen. The water may drain and the top ice could stay where it is, ripping the liner when it finally lets go.
Jammed a pool float styrofoam piece up there to stop the drip... not too much water in it so the level is right around the bottom of the inlet... hopefully it’ll hold till we have a warm day and I can fix it...

The hardware store or Hd/Lowe’s should have the next size stopper for the outside pipe. Maybe it’s 2 sizes bigger, but they have them. If not Amazon will be 48 hours.

That looks threaded on the inside- see if u can pick up a threaded plug like this from the hardware store or pool store. Some of the ones from the pool store have an o ring on them.
they’re cheap so just get a couple sizes if u don’t know what size you need. Wrap w/ teflon tape before installing. This is how i do my lower return from the outside since its only a foot off the ground & by the time my water is 60 degrees i can’t bring myself to go under & put it on from the inside.

ice melted and i was able to fish out the stopper and plug it back in.. now let the rain fill it and be ready to uncover it here may ish.
