New above ground pool owner. New pool- round 41,000 litres or 10,800 gallons. My water is the colour of an Oaisis. I have been dealing with a pool company that has cost me many $$$$$$ in chemicals trying to kill the algae…… nothing is working . My pool water is out of whack chemically the PC (pool company) keeps telling me not to worry about that right now. The articles on this site seem to think that is very important. I am very new, so which is it, should I be getting my pools chemical levels where they should be? The last water test from the PC w, I was told that the stabilizer (in side the chlorine pucks) is high 142 ppm, I was told to leave the pucks in the pool, PH is below 6.8, cya is zero, alkalinity is a little low at 80, free chlorine is 2.11 ppm, total chlorine is .43 ppm , combined 0.32 ppm, copper 0.2 ppm, iron 0.1 ppm, phosphate 301, TDS 500, calcium hardness 218 ppm. I have bought on the guidance is the PC algae pro concentrated, metastain, Sparkle, various types of clarifiers, shock individual packages, I vacuum every day, I have scrubbed the pool and the water stays the same, no better, no worse. The water is a light green, very cloudy. I can’t see the bottom of the pool. Does anyone have the correct solution to my problem? I am a 68 yr old women who bought this pool as a retirement present for myself. I am so frustrated that I am ready to drain and sell because I don’t know how to fix this and clearly neither does thePC. Thank you for reading Country**Girl

Welcome to the forum!
You need to follow the SLAM Process. To do that, you need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100/Pro or Taylor K2006C. A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols. In Canada, getting a proper kit can be more challenging. If you are near the USA border you can use a Mail Drop service for a kit and then travel across the border to pick it up. Also, see Pool Test Kits - Further Reading

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

Welcome to TFP! Oh boy, the pool company has been taking you for a ride. :( We need to change that right away. First order of business - a proper test kit. Down here in the states you have more options, but up north Taylor Industries has rights in the area. So unless you have a PO Box or travel down south, you'll need to obtain a Taylor K-2006C. Please do that as soon as possible and post a full set of your own test numbers. We'll be watching for them. No more guesswork or dependency on others.

Stay away from the pool store, their expensive products, and ridiculous advice. We'll help you from here.

Enjoy the forum. :swim:
