Water Evaporation - When do you experience the greatest loss of water (from non-human

Hi Everyone,

So last year, I got a new liner at the end of the year AND did a pressure test - just to be sure everything was good. I was losing water, but I knew I had made a slit in the liner which we patched like 3x, but it just kept getting bigger and bigger. We managed to survive 2 years, but I got tired of watching water levels and worrying about. The liner was only like 7 years old, but had also become quite light and faded, so we bit the bullet and got a new one.

We put in a new liner at the end of the season and the water retained its height throughout the winter when covered - so i doubt the liner has any issues. My filter is 2 years old and my pump is also 2 years old. I'm about replace the heater as well this Saturday.

Now my filter leaks a little water around the band - especially when my variable pump is at 3450rpm for about 4 hours of the day. I have to do a test to see how much water I am losing there, but I can't imagine it would be enough to notice in a single day.

So my question:

Is pre-summer the time where one experiences the most amount of water evaporation? Perhaps when the water temperature is still cool (68-72 degrees) and the air temperature on certain days can be 90 it would be high, but other days be in the 60-70s and less evaporation. I ask because we just had some insane downpours (like 3-4 inches in a single night) and my pool filled up, but also seemed to digress significantly thereafter.

I am very familiar with the bucket test, and no I haven't done that yet - I just started noticing today and yesterday. I am trying to simply figure out when evaporation is highest - we have no trees over and get pretty much full sun exposure.

Attached is also a picture of where the water dropped from say 6pm Sunday to about 2pm Monday. The top blue line is basically the bottom edge of the black tape from Sunday and the bottom blue line is basically the top of the water line (it looks darker under it, but that's just a reflection) from about 2pm Monday.

Thanks as always for everyone's help

hm, no wind today really. we just had a ton of rain yesterday, so i imagine the humidity is still fairly high (92% at 11:15pm), but not sure what it was all day

Ill get the band around the filter refitted and see if that fixes it. if not, then on to the bucket test and if that is an issue, well then time to call the guy who installed the liner to see what he says - some of the liner came out anyway, so i need to call them to see if they will tuck it back in. was told by (someone else) that its normal when its first cold and u have a new liner for some parts to sometimes come out
