New pool owner and installed SWG (salt water generator). Learning pool chemistry.
Read TFP article on Water Balances for SWG's it recommends a 4-6 ppm for FC (free chloride) which is beyond the 1-4ppm ideal range recommendation on many websites and Leslie Pool (use them to test water).
For a SWG Is 4-6 ppm for FC correct? For SWG is a higher FC (4 ppm) better than a lower FC (1-2 ppm range)
My current FC is 1.79 and Total Chlorine is 1.79 so I adusted my SWG from 70% to 65% since FC and TC were identical
Pool info: 20,000 gallons, running SWG for 6 to 7 hours. Salt Level is 3600 ppm (hope to reduce to 3000 ppm) Summer temperture 85F to 100F degrees
Hope other SWG pool owners could provide the ideal ranges for all of the water chemisty parameters
