Warming pool up

Will the pool warm up faster with water shining directly on the water with little wind or directly on the solar cover? Obviously solar cover would be on during the night to prevent heat loss. Weather is going to be calm, mid to upper 80's, and clear skys today.

Clear solar covers may help some, but my blue cover (which does look better on) slows down the heating. In the edge seasons, I use a roller to cover every night and uncover once the sun is on the pool.
