Wall scale issue

How do I remove this level of scale from my pool wall. Its caked around the entire pool. I showed the photo to pinch-a-penny and they told me its calcium deposit, and sold me a suncoat "Ultimate metal control" product. I have already gone through 1 quart with daily scrubbing to no result. The previous owner of the home did not maintain the pool well and now I am left with dealing with the residuals. Is there any way to get rid of this stuff?

Stop using the scale inhibitor, it's not going to help if that is truly calcium scale. Pinch-A-Penny is just pinching money from your wallet !!

Is it raised and rough? If not, then it could be plaster etching, not calcium scale. Do you have one of the recommended test kits? We need to see a full set of test results from YOU (not pinch a penny) to better help. Your first step in taking control of your pool is to learn how to test and balance your water yourself. Pool $tores are notoriously bad at testing and their "advice" is often worse.

If that scaling is as widespread as you say and if it is truly calcium scaling, then nothing short of a drain and acid wash is going to remove it.

We definitely need to see some real test results from a good test kit. And also some prior test results just to try to give a guess.
