Wall return depth

I'm in the midst of having a pool built and wanted to check - is there any standard, recommended, or required depth for wall returns? The builder has some returns set at 11" below the top of the forms, with gunite happening next week. If the water starts 5" down from the top of the forms, the returns are only 6" under water. Does that matter, and is there a recommendation?

Assume your water line will be at the middle of your skimmers. How far down from the bottom floor of the skimmer mouth are the returns?

How high is the returns from the pool floor?

The depth of the returns does not really matter.

The skimmer mouth is 5 1/2" tall from the top of the forms. The returns are 11" from the top of the forms, so they're 6 1/2" below the floor of the skimmer mouth.

How high is the returns from the pool floor?

The deep end return is about 56" to the pool bottom, but the pool also has a pair of floor returns.

Sounds fine. Especially if you have floor returns also.
