Hi, Thanks to the help of many on TFP, we have successfully installed our 2.7 HP Pureline VSP (PL2626/PL2606) with Aux power to the IC40 SWCG - included many f-bombs and other choice words, but all is running fine with no leaks :) The pump runs at a highest speed of 3450, and lowest of 600rpm. Since we are new to this (replaced a single speed 2.0 HP Hayward Superpump), I wanted to double check my programming plans.
For opening the pool, I ran is at 2800rpm for 8am until 4pm and 1750 from 8pm until 8am. Should/Can I slow it down from 8am - 4pm?
For regular pool operation.. We had success with running our 1 speed from 8am to 4pm with IC40 on the whole time, so my thoughts are to program as follows:
8am - 12pm 2600 rpm (with SWCG running too)
12pm - 6pm 1750 rpm (with SWCG running until 4pm) - our pool is shade covered starting around 4 - 5pm
6pm - 8am OFF
Would that be OK? Not planning to use the highest speed since the HP is 0.7hp higher than my single speed.
Thanks! Patty

I run my VS pump at 1500 rpm, which is sufficient to close the flow switch on my SWCG, for 8 hours per day.

If you do not have a pump powered cleaner, the only reason to run the pump at a rate higher than needed for your SWCG is because you are not satisfied with your skimming.

Determine how long you need to run the pump to supply your FC each day. Set the IC40 at 100% and only run the pump that long at a rate that closes the flow switch plus 100 rpm. See if that suffices to keep your pool skimmed and clean.
