Hi All;
I was hoping one of the Jandy pro's could help me. I have a schedule set-up with my Jandy VSP and i'm running at about 1,000 rpm for much of the day and then about 4 hours at higher speed in the afternoons. i'm wondering if there is a way to set a one touch button so that I can run the pump at a higher speed while brushing and/or adding chemicals without changing my regular schedule? I hope my question makes sense and would love it if someone could help explain how i might do this.

setup 1 and 2 with your schedule. Then setup speed 3 with the speed you want. When you want it press 3, when done, press the button associated with the current time.

  • If I was doing this now at 6:11pm, do this:
  • Set the Current Time
    • Press and hold the Menu or Set button (usually labeled) for 3-5 seconds until the display blinks or shows a time-setting mode.
    • Use the Up/Down arrows to adjust the hour to 06 (PM), then press Enter or Next.
    • Adjust the minutes to 11, then press Enter or Next.
    • Set the day to Tuesday (e.g., cycle through days with Up/Down), then press Enter or Save to confirm.
    • The display should now show the current time (06:11 PM) and date.
  • Access the Programming Mode
    • Press the Menu button to enter the main menu.
    • Use the Up/Down arrows to scroll to Schedule or Program Setup, then press Enter.
    • The display should show options for programming speeds or schedules (e.g., “P1,” “P2,” “P3”).
  • Set Up Speed Programs
    • Configure the three speed settings: (use your own speeds you want. I used 1400 for most of the day, 2000 for high speed, and 1800 for you custom speed)
      • Speed 1 (P1): Scroll to Speed 1 or P1, press Enter, and use the Up/Down arrows to set to 1400 RPM. Press Enter or Save.
      • Speed 2 (P2): Scroll to Speed 2 or P2, press Enter, and set to 2000 RPM. Press Enter or Save.
      • Speed 3 (P3): Scroll to Speed 3 or P3, press Enter, and set to 1800 RPM. Press Enter or Save.
    • These speeds are now stored for scheduling or manual use.
  • Configure the Schedule
    • Set the daily run times for Programs 1 and 2: Use whatever times you want. I just chose some.
      • Program 1 (1400 RPM):
        • Scroll to Schedule P1 or Program 1, press Enter.
        • Set Start Time to 08:00 AM using the Up/Down arrows, then press Enter or Next.
        • Set End Time to 02:00 PM, then press Enter or Save.
        • Link to Speed 1 (1400 RPM) if prompted, then save.
      • Program 2 (2000 RPM):
        • Scroll to Schedule P2 or Program 2, press Enter.
        • Set Start Time to 02:00 PM, then press Enter or Next.
        • Set End Time to 04:00 PM, then press Enter or Save.
        • Link to Speed 2 (2000 RPM) if prompted, then save.
    • Ensure no other programs are active (delete or disable unused schedules, e.g., P4 if present).
    • The pump will turn off after 04:00 PM since no further schedules are set.
  • Set Program 3 for Manual Activation
    • Scroll to Schedule P3 or Program 3, press Enter.
    • Look for an option like Manual Mode, On Demand, or Disable Schedule. Select this to prevent automatic activation.
    • If no manual-only option exists, leave P3 unscheduled and rely on manual override (see Step 6).
    • Save the setting.
  • Test Manual Activation for Program 3
    • Press the Mode or Manual button to exit schedule mode and enter manual control.
    • Use the Up/Down arrows to select Speed 3 (1800 RPM), then press Start or Run.
    • The pump should run at 1800 RPM. Press Stop to turn it off.
    • This confirms Program 3 (1800 RPM) runs only when manually started.
  • Exit and Save
    • Press Menu or Exit repeatedly until you return to the main screen (e.g., showing current time or RPM).
    • The settings are automatically saved on the SPEEDSET controller.
  • Verify the Setup
    • At 06:11 PM EDT (now), the pump should be off.
    • Tomorrow (May 07, 2025):
      • 08:00 AM: Pump should start at 1400 RPM.
      • 02:00 PM: Pump should switch to 2000 RPM.
      • 04:00 PM: Pump should turn off.
    • Manually activate Program 3 (1800 RPM) and confirm it runs only when triggered.
  • Troubleshooting
    • If the display doesn’t respond, power cycle the pump (turn off, wait 30 seconds, turn on).
    • If schedules don’t work, recheck the time setting (ensure AM/PM is correct).
    • If manual mode isn’t available, the SPEEDSET may require a firmware update or professional adjustment (contact Jandy support).
    • Refer to the pump’s label or manual for button-specific guidance if steps differ.
