Hi. I'm wondering if I should follow the OP's lead, and if so, what I need to buy aside from the VGreen motor. I.e. is the rest a straight swap (do I need a "gokit", here is the diagram https://www.inyopools.com/partlisting/jandy-flo-pro-pump)? Do I need the "165" or is the "130" sufficient? Should I get the "ECM" and just follow @1poolman1's advice above, or perhaps get the "EVQ" plus the VGreen automation adapter (A.O. Smith V-Green Automation Adapter Kit - 2517501-001 - INYOPools.com The "default" option would be to repair the existing single-speed motor. Thanks for any advice!

My pool and history:
  • 12,500gal salt pool with Jandy equipment, built by the prior homeowner in 2014.
  • I replaced the prior owner's aftermarket motor with a AOSmith/Century (48Y hsq125 3450rpm 1.25THP 1HP SF1) when the seal failed and shorted the unit in March 2022. That motor has gotten suddenly loud this week. Basket and pump housing are clear, so I suspect bearings.
  • Floor cleaner requires some minimum PSI to function. There is piping to the roof for passive solar heating but I have that path bypassed/closed. There is a gas heater for the spa, which overflows passively into the pool. I never use the heater and almost never use the pool.
  • I maintain the pool, filter, cell, and chemistry myself. I have replaced the pump motor once and salt cell once.
  • Location is central FL. Pump runs 7-8hrs/day, 365days/year.

My equipment:
Pump (FHPM FloPro 1.0): 2-Speed Pool Pump: Jandy FloPro Pump | Jandy
Salt Cell (PLC700): Salt Chlorinator: Jandy AquaPure | Jandy
Automation (Aqualink RS): Jandy AquaLink Remote: AquaLink PDA | Jandy
Floor cleaner: PV3 Automatic Pool Cleaning System - Paramount Pool & Spa Systems
Cartridge filter (CS150): Swimming Pool Cartridge Filter: Jandy CS Cartridge Filter | Jandy
Surface: Pebbletech (?)

If the original pump was a 1.14THP (as it is in most pictures) then the Century EVQ130 motor would work. The EVQ165 would work the same as you are not changing the impeller.
Yes, you need a GO KIT, or the parts that one contains, to successfully change a motor.
Not sure your Jandy PDA system is able to control a VSP. Check the pump menu to see if a VSP is an option. If not, the Century EVQ130/165 can just be connected to the filter-pump relay as your pump is now and its one of its internal programs can be picked for use. If you have a two-speed relay connected, it can be disconnected.
For a bit more control, the ECM16SQU can be controlled, on/off, by the same relay, but you have more options regarding speeds and times for those speeds. There are some good videos from Century on haw to do this. Though no longer made, this motor is still available at many online stores like Inyo Pools and even Amazon.

Thanks for the reply @1poolman1 . So strange, I thought I replied inside this thread; somehow, I failed.

Would it also be wise to get the ECM16SQU over a EVQ130 to support the pressure demands of my floor-cleaner and solar-roof-heat-route?
All things considered, is there any better bang-for-buck than the ECM16SQU that I should consider?
Is sticking with the status-quo single-speed motor plainly stupid? My experience has been that motors don't last long in exposed Florida conditions so I'm wondering if the additional investment truly pays off.
Thanks again.

Check the pump menu to see if a VSP is an option
Will do.
If you have a two-speed relay connected
I assume I don't since there have only been single-speed motors attached to the pump.
