Hi,
In the past I had a regualr chloro pool which I maintained with a VS pump which I ran slowly for 18 hours a day with two, one hour periods to get the skimmers working at a higher rpm.

We are just finishing our new pool (20,000 gal) which will have a Intellipro VS pump and i-Chlor 30.

I'm pretty well read on the chemical side of things (I'm sure I'll be eating my words when once we commision the pool) but I am totally new to SWG's.

We are in Costa Rica and good sun for most of the year on the pool.

What would be an advisable schedule for runnning the pump?

How much does the rpm of the pump effect the SWG's performance?

What other questions should I be asking?

Thanks in advance.

TAK,

An i-chlor-30 is really on the small size for your pool... We always recommend a cell that is at least 2 x the volume of your pool, so the minimum would be an IC-40..

That said, the i-Chlor-30 will work, you will just need to run it longer..

I run my IntelliFlo 24/7 at about 1200 RPM, most of the time, for less than $20 bucks a month. I like generating chlorine all the time and skimming all the time. I also like the look of my pool when there is a little motion to the water.

I suggest that you run your pump 24/7 at whatever speed turns on the cell's flow switch. I would not run slower than 1,000 RPM.

Thanks,

Jim R.
