My in ground vinyl liner last season had cracks/tears forming in all 4 corners last season so I am assuming that means it is time to replace it. The pool was already at the house when we bought the house, so no experience with vinyl liners. Does this sound like we likely need to replace at this time? What should I know when it comes to replacing the liner? Is there a better alternative to switch to? Any pool features or upgrades or anything I could possibly due at the time of replacing the liner? Is there such a thing as pool lights I could install that are battery and dont have to run electrical? Are the thicker liners worth the extra cost? My skimmer is built into concrete but is cracking, would it be a good idea to replace that now or would it require a lot of concrete work in addition to the liner?

Really any information at all to keep me informed during this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Its your only choice. If you had a plaster or fiberglass pool that needed refinishing, you could drop a liner in it at a considerable savings, but you can't go the other way.

None that will last. There are DC or solar lights that last a season, or maybe even 2, if you don't mind replacing them.

To me the extra durability is worth every penny and then some. They will all get old and brittle one day. Push that day off as far as you can, and enjoy a little more resistance to rips in the meantime.

Yes. Once the liner is cut for the old skimmer, the new one will never line up perfectly perfect and you'll likely end up with a big patch. Whatever it costs, nows the time.

I had a leak dedication company come out, as i was losing alot of water. They found a small tear in liner (2 years old) , a contractor told me that we run a high risk of 'possible' problems such as parts to break? He mention gaskets ?? Is he correct? I've never heard of this before, I thought one only drains the pool, then places new liner in? Is he correct with this information?
