Variable Speed Pool Pump keeps going out

Just trying to see what my options would be this is getting expensive replacing pumps every 5 years.

I have a 10 year old 48k gal pool and going on my 3rd pump. The pool company that installed the pool came out and said the voltage to my house from the power company is too high and that’s what keeps knocking it out. 249 volts. I called the power company to verify and it’s is 249 and they said it’s with in specs. The pump is a 2.7HP Jandy Variable but the Manuel and the pool company both say the variable voltage is +/- 10% up to 253 volts and should be ok.

The pool company said the pump can be wired for 110 instead of 220 but the power consumption would go up significantly. I looked at the Pentair and they are the same specs for voltage.

What specific pump do you have? Have all 3 pumps been the same?
How are the pumps failing? What are the symptoms?

Post a picture of your equipment pad and the pump in question. You should be replacing a pump every 10 years, not 3 in 10 years.

I really doubt the problem is related to your AC power voltage..

Tell us exactly what the failure mode was on each pump?

Wiring for 120 volts will only slightly increase your power consumption. I doubt you would notice, but again, I doubt the incoming AC is the problem.

It’s a Jandy 2.7hp variable- both pumps have been the same. This will be the third

No systems it just quits. Told Volts are too high at 249. But manual says 253 is ok

When you say it quits - what does that mean? You go out and the system has no power and will not turn on? It will turn on but just hums?
How are you controlling the pump? Any automation??

How is the pump wired? To a timer and then a breaker? Does the breaker trip? Does the timer have any issues?
