Valves for Suction Side of Pool

I am replacing my pool pump and with the existing plumbing setup I will need to remove and replace plumbing back through diverter valves on the suction side. Is there a specific reason to use the larger diverter valves like the Pentair ones I have pictured or would it be ok to use any PVC valve? In the picture the two large Pentair valves are on the suction side: the one inline is the skimmers and the valve that comes into a 90º is the vac port (which I rarely use). Trying to save some time and money if I don't need the larger valves. Pool Plumbing (1).jpg

I would re-use those valves. We do not recommend the PVC ball valves, they tend to break, or seize over time. These valves, are rebuildable and give long life.
