I screwed up. There's white powder all over the bottom of the pool. Several clarifier treatments and I can see the bottom. As preparation for vacuuming to waste, I have been adding water. I still might not get to the entire bottom before I have to stop. What I want to know is if it makes sense to lower the pump speed to slow down the amount of water pumping out? The gauge says 10. I gather that I must run Rinse for 30 seconds at the end of the vacuum phase.

Might see if once you are vacuuming to waste if you can turn off the pump and see if a siphon will continue to let you pick up the material.

What a feindishly simple suggestion, which I will happily try. I forgot to mention that I'm doing this solo. I guess I can tether the pole to the ladder while I turn off the pump.
It's worth a try before I give up and call in a professional.
Thanks.
