Vacuum won't move

We just put up a Bestway 18' x 48" above ground pool and the Flowclear 1,500-gal filter pump (cartridge) that came with it. We also bought a new Wanda the Whale to clean it. Plugged one of the inlets to get her enough pressure and we got her to work well for one pass across the pool. Then she got clogged but once we cleaned out the leaves we can no longer get enough pressure to show up in the pressure gauge. Hoses, input and pump clear of debris.

1. Can we even run this vacuum with this pump? If so, what else should we look at to make it work?
2. If the pump is the problem, any suggestions on a better one without going overboard?

Thanks!

is that a suction side vacuum? I have an older intex cleaner and it is a pressure side cleaner. sometimes people hook cleaners up the wrong way and I am not familiar with the wanda the whale.

either way I suspect that pump/filter is not going to drive a cleaner well at all. I just put up the same pool, but I had my old upgraded intex pump and filter, didn't even open the box for the "new" toy pump.

Thanks for the advice. What pump and filter do you have that you like?

Intex used to sell a pump and 16 inch sand filter combo. I don't think they do any longer, though you can get them as replacement parts on their website (sometimes). there are probably lots of fairly inexpensive options, even the 14 inch is going to be better than the little cannister filter/pump that comes with the pool. you can survive with them if you keep on top of your chemistry but they probably aren't going to be able to run a cleaner.

Be sure that the filter is clean as flow is reduced when it’s dirty.
If the pool is quite dirty or you have algae the filter can get overwhelmed quickly.
