I guess I wasn't aware there are good and bad brands of vacuum hoses! Had to replace ours this year, so my husband bought an extra long one so it would reach across our pool (30' above ground). RIght out of the box, I thought it felt like a weird cheap plastic, but didn't have time to order another. But every time I use it, I can't get the twists/turns out of it, plus the hose curls up on itself and draws in right up to the skimmer, slowing down suction. First, is there anything I can do to get/keep the twists out of this thing? Second, if I can't, what brand hose do you recommend? Thanks!

Try laying it out straight on cement in the hot sun. Weigh it down if it won't stay straight. That might relax the curls out.
