Vaccuming Leak????

Good day all,
I have a very strange issue this year only. When I run my Intex SF70110 filter all works just great. However, when I try to vaccum the pool, I now get a lot of air into the filter. I have checked my connections and they all seem good. I can then go back to filtering, all the air goes away. I will get air in the filter regardless if I filer to waste or not.

I don't understand why. Any advice would be appreaciated.

Might help to know about what you use to vacuum. Some pics could help. Do you use a skimmer plate or just insert a hose directly into the skimmer or vacuum port? Have you tested your vacuum hose for leaks? Things like that. Pics help.

That's what I was thinking. After a few years of dragging the hose over the concrete pool deck while unrolling and rolling the hose, there is wear and tear on the ribs of the hose that develop into pin holes. New hose solves the problem.

Thank you. I use a plate over the return and a brush. I will try a new hose.
