Hello. I had a gunite pool installed 3 summers ago in NJ. The installer suggested I use a winter watch program over the winter to keep the chemistry right, because the plaster would only be 3 months old at the time. The program consists of a guy coming out after the pool is covered and winterized and installing a pump to move the water around and coming once a month to check chemistry and add chemicals as needed. The installer suggested I use this service in perpetuity, but my father has owned 3 pools in his life (2 Jersey, 1 Florida) and said he has never used it and it's not needed. I did the winter watch thing for the last 2 years at around $800 for 7 months of service. Since my plaster is settled in, am I good to save that money and spend it elsewhere, or would you suggest continuing the service?
Thank you!
