Hey All,

I am going to be away from my pool for about 3-3.5 full days in the next week. This is probably short enough that I can simply raise to SLAM level and still be above my minimum when I get home, but I've always wondered....

Would I be ok to use a floater while away given that the pump will only run maybe 7 hours each day? My concern would be the floater sitting against the liner for an extended period, and I am wondering if there is a risk of bleaching it?

(No concerns from a chemical standpoint - I have a 5 year old bucket of pucks and will use them occasionally when my CYA falls a bit below my target of 40ish and/or Ph drifts up. Plus I drain 25% every year for winterizing.)

Yours in TFP, :)

If this was my pool, I would bring this up to SLAM and let it be. No floaters. The floater base will be on the water and not against the liner, so I would assume the answer would be that you will not bleach your liner. I know people who have used them throughout the years without any fading on the side of the liner. The pools with floaters have poor liner bottoms from all the "xxxx" they have put in the pool throughout the years. I would set the dial a little low and bring pool up to the SLAM level.
