Looking for some insight on temporarily using chlorine tablets. Since owning our first pool and learning to maintain it, I've only used liquid chlorine. Now that we are leaving town I'm not sure how many tabs to use and how to set the floater in our pool while we're away. Its approximately 22k gallons. My current CYA is 40. We'll be gone for about 5 days. It gets full sun for about 10 hours and it is HOT here in Houston. Thanks in advance.

Pack as many as you can in the floater, maybe 4 or 5, then raise your FC with liquid right before you go. Use Pool Math to estimate how much FC and CYA this will add to your water but I'm guessing the tabs may not fully disolve but with warm water they may.

Check your floater, some have adjustable openings. I open mine up, attach a line to the top and secure it in front of a return line. Have fun.
