I've been involved with a number of threads involving the duty cycle of RJ series SWGs. I previously believed that the duty cycle was a 200 minute period based on what Circupool told a member here and from my experience with my own RJ-30. I recently had a CURB energy monitoring system installed in my home. It not only monitors usage of many individual circuits but it also stores the data and allows the user to review graphs of use down to one minute intervals. I use it to monitor my pump to ensure it's working properly and I also use it to monitor the SWG, it draws about 100 watts so I can see the cycles superimposed onto the pump usage. This is particularly valuable when I'm away.

Anyway, after changing my pump schedule a couple of days ago, I've paid more close attention to the pump and SWG cycles. In the process I've come to realize that the true cycle is 180 minutes, not the 200 minutes. In the scheme of things it makes little difference in overall output but I thought it was worth mentioning. My guess is that the RJs are based on the Hayward design that apparently also has a 180 minute cycle.

I have a RJ 30 Plus installed a year ago. This is extremely helpful. Thanks and Allen thanks for updating the further reading. Further Reading has become an invaluable source of information for me!
