My pool installer didn't do a great job on the bottom of my newly installed above ground. a few little craters around, like footprints and all that. Any way to smooth these out over time a little, or most likely is what it is?

As Newdude said, you are only going to get more craters as time goes on. I can put a dent in the bottom of my pool just by standing on my heels.

By placing styrofoam (pink one) above the sand usually solves the problem of craters and footprints. I've been using it for the last 3 years, works great. The only problem with foam is if they don't stick well enough, they can come apart under the pool. Some good quality duct tape or even better - PU adhesive glue would do the trick.
But since the pool is already filled, you'll just have to get used to it :D

Thanks everyone. Makes me feel a bit better about it. Like the walking on the moon comment. That’s what I told me kids “pretend you’re waking on the moon”. Lol
