Underwater liner patches?

So I have tried 2 different approaches to patch the area around my skimmer. Liner has pulled down about 3/4 of an inch on the bottom so looking to patch the gap it has created. I have tried 2 Peal and stick types, Water Trends from Great Escapes, and Flextape, on the dry side work ok, but when they hit the water they do not stick. Any suggestions? Thinking a big patch would work better to cover the whole area, then re-cut out skimmer.

I recommend Boxer brand underwater adhesive plastic patches. On amazon....5 ea. 3x7 patches. About 10 bucks.

You are removing the skimmer to do this right? A Bigger patch is definitely better. You want a couple inches overlap all the way around. Perhaps you could source some excess vinyl liner for a patch then carefully cut the skimmer back in. Don’t forget to get new gaskets for the skimmer.
