We don’t get below freezing but very close at night. We have a cover and I wouldn’t recommend a heat pump or any heater without one unless you want to heat the atmosphere. Just do your research and oversize. There’s some rubbish systems around.


My advice is to take the advise offered here. It will save you a lot of time and money.

Do you use a regular cover or solar cover?

I will have a IG free form shape pool so PB suggested I use a liquid cover.

Experience on the forum pretty much says that the liquid covers are only useful if you have no wind and the pool surface remains perfectly still. But even then they are still not as good as a regular cover.
