I recently bought this home, I see there is an old crusty Turbo Clean canister by the pump. I cannot find any information about it online. Nothing. I assume it should be opened and cleaned? The band around it is really crusted. How often do I clean it? Do I clean it? There was a solar heating system for this pool but I had Heliocool disable it because it was leaking badly. They quoted me $7000 to replace it. I passed on that. I wonder if this Turbo Clean is part of the solar? Thanks! Karla

That is part of an InFloor Cleaning System. There are pop ups in the pool floor that should be jetting water out in a pattern. The Turboclean is a valving mechanism that switches the flow to different pop up sets. It is NOT a filter. It may need repair if the system is not operating correctly, but not cleaning.

TurboClean was a product of Master Pools. It can be replaced with an A&A Manufacturing (now Pentair) water distribution valves. As for the pop-ups, there is an adapter to convert from TurboClean to A&A popups.
