Trying to start a slam

I have an active algae/green pool situation. I am trying to start a SLAM. PH is 7.4. CYA is 40. I have a TF PRO kit. When I do the basic daily chlorine test I’m at .5 or less (pale yellow). When I do the FP test I’m at 26. 52 drops/2 = 26. I have repeated this test 3 times thinking that cannot be right. We did shock it yesterday and had the SWG on boost but how could it be that high and that green? According to pool math I don’t need to even add chlorine yet. Could this be right and I should just brush/vacuum and keep testing? SWG is now off.

Brush and vacuum. When FC drops below 16, raise it back to 16 and continue slam. Discontinue the use of dry shock. Use liquid chlorine for SLAM.
