Trying to communicate between Aqua Plus PL-Plus and Tristar VS 950.

Hello,
I have just installed the Hayward Aqua Plus PL-Plus and I am trying to set up the automation with my pump, the Hayward Tristar VS 950 P32950VSP.
I wired the 240V using the pump/filter relay, although I read somewhere that I can/should wire directly into the breaker?
My confusion though is with the control wiring, is it correct that this model is not supported for use with Hayward control wiring?
And if so, can I hook it up using External Relay Speed Control Wiring?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your fast reply.
The terminal names on my VS950 look somewhat different from the manual in the link (see pictures) but I think it translates.

Can you tell me if the following fry the circuit boards or does it look OK to you?
12VAC to the left relay Line In terminals on the control. I suppose I can only use the AUX 1 and AUX 2 relays, not the LIGHTS?
INP1 to the left Line Out terminal of the AUX 1 relay.
INP2 to the left Line Out terminal of the AUX 2 relay.

Thanks again!

You're not going to use aux relays.

You just need 2 data wires. One wire goes from COMBUS 7 in the pump to #2 black in the control box (top left 4 wire green connector labeled remote display).

COMBUS 8 in the pump goes to #3 yellow just below #2 on the same terminal block.

These instructions should be in the manual.

Once installed, Remote Control Mode must be set to Standalone/Hayward in the pump Configuration Menu (see section 6.6), and for all controls other than OmniLogic, Comm Bus Address must be set according to instructions provided in the Hayward pool control installation manual (see section 6.6.11). It is best to leave the max/min allowed speeds in the pump configuration menu set to their factory defaults to prevent conflict with these settings in the Hayward pool control configuration menu. Preset Speeds 1-4 and Quick Clean are disabled when the pump is remotely controlled. Prime Duration is disabled only when the pump is communicating with a Hayward pool control.

Yup James is spot on. Wire to breaker the comm wires control pump. You need to pay attention when you go thru the prologic setup and choose correct pump setup and then you also need to set an address I beleive in the pumps control there is a small paper that tells you what they are that came with the pump
