I have a Taylor 2006 at home and then also had a test run at Leslie’s. Pool is 10,000 gallon pool w/Hayward SWG (TCELLS325), sand filter.

I tried using the Taylor 2006 test and didn’t feel like I was getting consistent results. Likely user error. For example my pH test with Taylor’s came up with 7.6, Leslie’s test was 7.1

My salt test at home didn’t provide clear results either. Free chlorine with Taylor’s at home was 2.5, Leslie’s was 1.42

Any thoughts on how to get better results? Or are the Leslie’s test values accurate enough to go on? I don’t plan on buying anything from them. Just looking for accurate testing

Thanks!

Your test results will be more accurate than Leslie's. Keep practicing with your kit, it will be more accurate than Leslie's.

Please post your full test results from the Taylor 2006.

For the salt test, just add the drops while swirling and when it turns a red brick color, that is your value. It is obvious when it changes.

If the Leslie's test is even close to correct, you are way too low on CYA.

1. Get your test results from the Taylor 2006. Your test results will be more accurate than Leslie's.
2. Get your CYA to proper range for salt pool.
3. Get your FC to proper range based on CYA level.

Then you can worry about the other items once you get your CYA/FC relationship in order. Go here and get some great information: Pool School

If you don't already have one, buy a SpeedStir. It will not only speed up the tests, it will improve accuracy and repeatability.

and didn’t feel like I was getting consistent results. .
Did you do your own test back to back and they were off from each other?
O did your results not match the pool store that no one trusts?

My salt test at home didn’t provide clear results either.

The taylor k-1766 gives a brutal color change

Or are the Leslie’s test values accurate enough to go on?
I trust your testing with you thinking its wrong more than Leslie's

A speed stir might help you. I know after buying mine I wouldn't do testing without it.
