Trouble with my new generator cell

I've not been producing as much salt the past week or so and I looked at my cell and there is a brown almost burnt or rusting look on the plastics parts directly downstream of my salt cell.

Any thoughts on what this may be?

Brown downstream from the cell is usually iron that has been oxidized by chlorine and precipitated out by the hydroxide.

I have a circupool RJ60. Just hooked it up a little over a month ago. Was working great. I went on vacation for 9 days with the pump timed for 6 hours a day with the generator on 65% which was a little higher than I had been keeping it prior to the vacation.

I came back to a cloudy pool and low FC around 1.0.

The RJ60 looks like it's rated at 3.1 lbs/day. For 6 hours at 65%, that's about 8 oz. 8oz in 20,000 gallons is 3 ppm, which should be enough for most pools.

You need to SLAM.

Nope.....salinity is a little high at 3800 but not throwing and error.

3ppm is ok if the water is perfect but it might not be enough if the chlorine got behind.

What is the CYA and what is the lowest the fc has been in the last two weeks?

CYA was 80 prior to vacation, but latest measurements show more like 50-60 which is weird. Shouldn't be loosing stabilizer.

FC was around 1.0 when I got home from vacation and at 5.0 prior to leaving. It was a very hot week that I was gone.

With an 80 CYA, your lowest fc should be 6 ppm.

I suspect that your SWG is probably working correctly.
