First post here, and I hope it's the right place. This forum has been a God send for me since I am pretty much completely ignorant of a pool but I am learning and also having a professional come out for a "pool school" day fairly soon.
My wife and I bought our first home and it has an in ground pool. Not terribly large, L shaped, maybe 5 feet deep at the most. It is a salt water pool with all Hayward equipment. I can specify what equipment if needed.
I bought a Vingli Automatic Pool Cleaner because I simply won't have the time to vacuum come July when our first child is born. I figured this would help alleviate some of the routine maintenance involved.
I hooked everything up, inserted it into the skimmer hole as instructed, turned the pump back on, and the cleaner works great when the pump is first turning back on, but after about 30 seconds the cleaner stops moving altogether and just sits at the bottom of the pool.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong. The only thing I can surmise with my limited knowledge, is that the pump, when first starting back is powerful enough for it to move but when the pump is done autopriming, and simply filtering, the pool cleaner stops altogether.
I live in Columbia SC our pollen has been off the charts but we are close to turning the corner. We have lived here now for two weeks and the pool is "clean" minus the debris on the bottom, and I have no algae or anything else so I guess either I or my salt cell, or both are doing fine, I just want the bottom clean.
Note: I do have a manual vacuum, it works fine so I am capable and willing to use it, however, I would like to be able to use the automatic one sooner rather than later..
